The short answer
If your tub is chipped, dull, stained, or just an outdated color, but the tub itself is solid, refinishing is usually the right call. It costs a fraction of replacement and takes a few hours instead of days.
Signs it is time
Chips that expose the material underneath. A rough or dull surface that cleaning does not fix. Stains that come back. An outdated color like almond, pink, blue, or green. Wear around the drain and along the bottom of the tub.
When it is a repair job first
Cracks and leaks in a fiberglass tub or surround are repaired and sealed before anything is coated. Send photos and we will tell you straight whether it is a good candidate.
What happens next
Most jobs are finished in 4 to 5 hours, and the surface is typically ready to use within 24 to 48 hours.
