Resurfacing sounds like a big project, but it is not. Most jobs are finished in 4 to 5 hours, and everything is done in place. Here is what the day looks like.
Before the day
You send photos or book a free inspection (available within 50 miles). You get a quote for your specific job. Nothing needs to be removed from the bathroom, so there is not much to prepare.
The steps
- Clean and acid wash. The surface is thoroughly cleaned so the new coating can bond.
- Repair. Chips and cracks are repaired before anything gets coated.
- New caulking. Old caulk is replaced.
- Epoxy primer. This is the base the coating grips.
- Premium coating. The final finish, built to last 10 to 15 years.
Prep is the part that decides how long a coating lasts, which is why it gets the time.
After
- The surface is typically ready to use within 24 to 48 hours.
- You get the exact timing for your job before we leave, since it varies with the surface and conditions.
- Your tile, plumbing, backsplash, and cabinets are exactly where you left them.
Questions to ask any refinisher
- What does your prep involve?
- How long until I can use it?
- How long is the coating built to last?
